Additional Supplements and Charges
Your holiday price includes gas and water and electricity is included up to 8 kilo watts per day. Electricity consumed above 8kw per day during the period of your stay will be charged at the rate of 0.20 centimes per kilo watt.*
In cold spells, an initial supply of logs for burning on the log burner will be provided free of charge. Additional logs can be purchased at the proportional price of 55 euros per ‘stere’ (cubic metre)*.
Logs can also be purchased at the nearby supermarket.
For gîte bookings, there is no charge for fishing providing the name of the angler was given at the time of booking.
The gîte and garden must be left in the same condition as it was let to you, and cleaned to the same level of cleanliness.
A charge of 50€ will be deducted from your security deposit if the gîte requires cleaning after your stay.
A cleaning service can be requested at the time of booking, for 50€*.
The cleaning fee may be increased if extra occupancy is agreed.

Gîte de la Prairie @ 0.60€ per person per night (>18 years) / Gîte de l'Etang @ 0.75€ per person per night (>18 years) (tbc for 2021)
Gite de la Prairie can accommodate 2 people and Gite de l’Etang can accommodate 4 people.
There are sofa beds in both gites, which can be used for occasional additional guests (upon prior agreement by the proprietors – additional charges for supplementary persons will apply).
We are mostly a child free venue, children by exception and prior agreement with the proprietors.

A security deposit of 150€ per gîte is required against any loss or damage etc. . This amount is to be paid at the time of your holiday balance and will be refunded to you within 5 days of your departure by Paypal. (The refund is credited in the same currency as the original payment. The same conversion rate is used as appropriate. For payments by bank account or PaypPal balance, the refund is credited to the PayPal balance of the sender. For credit card payments, the refund will be credited to the card of the sender, it can take up to 30 days depending on the card issuer. For payments made with both a credit card and another payment method the amount paid by card will be credited to the card and the rest to the Paypal balance of the sender).
This security deposit amount will be refunded in full providing there is no damage to the gîte or its contents, persons have not been smoking in the gîte, and if a cleaning fee has not been incurred.
Arrival and Departure
For weekly bookings arrivals are after 4pm and before 7pm on Saturday unless agreed otherwise with the owner.
Departures are before 10am on Saturday morning, unless agreed otherwise with the owner.
Different arrival and departure days outside of high season will be considered.
Most domestic animals are welcome at La Germondière, but must be requested at the time of the booking. The owners have the right to refuse dangerous breeds. There is no charge for your animals (we can also arrange appointments at a vets in Secondigny), however, if extra cleaning is required on our part after your departure, an amount will be deducted from your security deposit - maximum 50€.
You are responsible for the safety of your animals, must clean up after them and ensure they are not a bother to other customers or our neighbours at La Germondière. No animals are allowed on any of the gîte furniture. There may be occasions when our chickens are outside free-ranging in the evening – please ensure you keep your dog on a lead or inside the gîte or gîte garden at these times.
Maximum 3 dogs in Gîte de l'Etang. Maximum 2 dogs in Gîte de la Prairie.
There are cats in the neighbourhood, ours and our neighbours - under no circumstances are these cats to be allowed in the gites. Please note that we have our own dogs too.
There is no charge for fishing providing the name of the angler was given at the time of booking.
So that our fish have a long and healthy life, we ask you to respect the following rules, please follow them at all times.
•We have a NO KILL policy. ALL fish must be returned to the lakes.
•Our lakes are for carp and coarse fishing, not predator fishing.
•Maximum 3 rods per angler.
•Never leave your rods unattended whilst they are in the water.
•Day ticket anglers and Under 16s are only permitted to fish the smaller lake (unless pre-arranged with the proprietor).
•Do not keep fish in a keep-net or out of the water for longer than is necessary. No carp bigger than 1Kg to be put into keep nets.
•When photographing fish, crouch low over your cradle.
•Do not stand up whilst handling a fish.
•If you spot any damage on the fish, such as ulcers or cuts, please treat it with a carp care kit (or call us so that we can).
•The erection of bivvies ONLY with prior approval from the proprietors.
•All anglers must be equipped with landing nets.
Rules for fishing the large lake
•Barbed hooks only (Barbless or barbed can be used on the smaller lake)
•All anglers must be equipped with a large specimen landing net and cradle. Can be supplied if requested before-hand.
•Rig tubing to be used on all rods.
•Minimum 12lb line.
•No weighing of fish in the landing net, weigh slings to be used.
If you have any problems AT ALL which has the potential to cause risk or injury to our fish, contact the proprietors IMMEDIATELY.
Smoking is not permitted inside the gîtes. Smoking in the gîte gardens or around the lakes is permitted.
If this rule is ignored and the gite is left smelling of cigarettes, 50€ will be deducted from your security deposit.
Cancellation by the customer 4 weeks or more before arrival date, deposit only forfeited.
Cancellation by the customer 2-4 weeks before arrival date, 50% of holiday cost forfeited and security deposit refunded.
Cancellation by the customer less than 2 weeks before arrival date, full cost of holiday forfeited, security deposit refunded.
In all instances, the 25% booking deposit is non refundable. However, in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic:
Should the French government introduce an ordinance relating to the financial conditions for the resolution of certain tourist travel and stay contracts in the event of exceptional and unavoidable circumstances, we are required to follow that ordinance. For example, such an ordinance was introduced in March 2020 for cancellations notified between 1 March and 15 September 2020 due to strict confinement measures and border closures. This ordinance required that a credit note was to be provided within three months of the terminated contract, valid for a period of eighteen months.
All passport, Visa and Health Certificate requirements are your responsibility and we accept no responsibility for any delay or expense incurred through any irregularity in your documents.
Customers are advised to cover themselves with the appropriate travel insurance and health cover for the period of the holiday.
Holidaymakers or their guests must not, on their own or permit persons under their control, to do anything which may in the opinion of the proprietors be, or become a nuisance, or be detrimental to other holidaymakers, anglers or our neighbours. Any such actions will be considered to be a breach of bookings conditions. In particular, vandalism, abusive or threatening behaviour will not be tolerated. In the event of such a breach, the guest and their party will be asked to leave immediately and no refund will be made.
Drugs and drunkenness will not tolerated (one warning will be given).
We are primarily an adult only venue - our environment is not child friendly, therefore children are only by exception. In which case children must remain the responsibility of their guardian and must not disturb the peaceful ambience for other anglers at the lakes.
Your enjoyment is important to us and any shortcomings must be notified to the proprietor immediately so that they can be rectified for you. We cannot accept responsibility for any shortcomings not notified to us. We cannot consider any claims of shortcomings after you have left.
