Often people assume our venue is only for fishing, and understandably so, most of our customers are anglers.  

Yet, it offers so much more than that.

It took some time to realise it, but there is a certain magic here.

Being away from day-to-day pressures of life, nestled in nature, completely nurtures the soul.

** It soothes **

It creates headspace to deal with whatever life presents.

Is this socially distant enough?

Surely you will have read or heard references to mindfulness. 

What actually is it? Well, it isn't something that has to be done sitting cross-legged, or on a yoga mat. 

Claire says "mindfulness is paying attention, without judgement and with acceptance, to where we are, how we are, what we are feeling, what we are thinking - in the present moment."

Practising and understanding more about mindfulness has helped us realise that fishing is exactly that.  For some anglers and at some fishing venues, it is just about the trophy picture of the biggest fish.  For our angling customers, it is very much more than that.   Don't just take our word for it, come and see and feel it for yourself.

"Sit beneath a big tree, lean back against its trunk and look up through its branches to the sky.  Try to put aside for a moment any thoughts you are having at the time and just enjoy being there."   

We have a stunning walnut tree that is just perfect for this exercise.

Talking of which, with so little light pollution here, the night skies are truly an awesome sight.  Treat yourself to some time out in the garden at night, spotting satellites and make a wish upon a shooting star in the breathtakingly beautiful sky.
